Dear Prospective Student,

Thank you for your interest in Hospitality High School (HHS). The Hospitality High School of Washington, D.C. – A College Preparatory School (formerly known as Marriott Hospitality Public Charter High School) received its charter in 1998 and opened in 1999 as the first high school designed to introduce students to business management careers in hospitality. The primary mission of Hospitality High School is to ensure that students have access to educational and career opportunities in the hospitality industry. Hospitality and Restaurant Industry curricula are combined with a College Preparatory academic program to expose and prepare our students to acquire knowledge and 21st Century job skills (i.e. reading, technology, problem solving, effective communication and social skills). Our standards for all of our students are realistically high and attainable.

Through its focus on hospitality, HHS provides a rigorous curriculum that allows students who attend the opportunity to prepare themselves for success in college by taking Honors and Advanced Placement classes. In addition, students are prepared for the world of work through job shadowing, summer internships and industry mentors. The outstanding staff and faculty work to help every student reach his or her potential. If you are highly motivated and interested in preparing for a career in the hospitality industry we encourage you to apply so you can become part of a learning community that is committed to excellence.

Hospitality High School is located at 4301 13th Street, NW, in Roosevelt Senior High School. We share the space with Roosevelt Senior High School but we are situated on the third floor exclusively. This co-location provides us additional space in which to grow and allows us access to a state-of-the-art teaching culinary kitchen. HHS maintains its separate identity with its own administration, teaching and security staff. You will have the opportunity to learn in an environment where classes are small and you will be challenged and supported, while reaching your goals for success.

Hospitality High School is a recognized National Academy Foundation Academy of Hospitality and Tourism. An Academy of Hospitality & Tourism helps students chart career paths in one of the world’s largest industries, from hotel management to sports, entertainment, and event management, and includes the study of geography, economics, and world cultures.
